Postcard shows a photo of spinning the cables, each containing 17, 464 wires compressed to a diameter of 28 inches, between the four towers of the West Bay Crossing (San Francisco and Yerba Buena Island). This process was started on July 6, 1935. This postcard was made to commemorate the 50 year anniversiary of the bridge, started in 1933 and finished in 1936. Number 6 of a 10 postcard limited edition set. |
