Photo depicts a 1924 American LaFrance, the first motorized fire apparatus to be purchased by the City of Mill Valley. This 750 gpm pumper arrived from New York in March of 1925 for a total cost of $12,000 [or $146,214 if purchased in 2008]. Pictured with the LaFrance are the members of the committee responsible for its [sic] restoration: (l to r) Greg Moore, Jim Miner, Capt. John Keane, Volunteer Capt. Ted Homen, Battalion Chief Jim McClure. Photograph taken in the Fall of 1978. |
