Description |
Site of Thaddeus Welch's cabin in Steep Ravine on the slope of Mt. Tamalpais, now overgrown with no visible trace of the former cabin, 1976. The Welches lived in the cabin from 1894-1902. Typed note accompanying photo reads: "Although Thad Welch's one-time opening in the woods is still illluminated by blazes of sunlight which pierce the gloom, the very site of the cabin, itself, is buried in deep shade and rampant growth." |
