Engineer Ernest Thomas sits in the Jos. G. Eastland engine at Lytton Square. The engine stands in front of the Eastland Livery & Boarding building. Ernest was the brother of Bill Thomas, the inventor of the gravity car and master mechanic for the Mill Valley & Mt. Tamalpais Railway. He would later become the Railway's superintendent. |
