Description |
Photograph taken from Oakdale Avenue above East Blithedale. Two-story building on the right is part of El Paseo. The large prominent building left front is now location of Westamerica Bank (1988) at Sunnyside and East Blithedale (formerly Costa Creamery). Building left center was Costa Brothers Creamery until 1935 when it was torn down by Jacob Albert. Albert built a store for Safeway on the site. The Safeway parking lot replaced the Creamery and the new store was built in the rear. When Safeway moved to Miller and Camino Alto the building was occupied by Golden Valley Market until 1980. The building was sold to Bank of Marin in 1980, remodeled. The bank later merged into Westamerica Bank. |
