Description |
John Muir, William Kent and J. H. Cutter (first president of the Tamalpais Conservation Club), are pictured outside of Muir Woods Inn. Kent bought the Redwood Canyon (Muir Woods) in 1905 and proposed the extension of the Mount Tamalpais Railway to Muir Woods, where the Muir Woods Inn was established in 1907. The inn burned down in 1913 and a new inn, built right afterward, eventually closed in 1930. |
