From the MVHS 1984 guidebook: "This house was built in the early 1890's. It is the house in which Mildred Folker Mancha was born (1894). It was affectionately named 'Newton's Cottage'. Additions to the house were made in 1899 by Harvey Klyce. Folkers lived here till the early 1900's and then moved back to the wmall cabin on the property. At that time Folker became assistant lighthouse keeper at Pt. Reyes Light. The blue rock in the wall came from Cascade Canyon. The Jodepf Landgraff family acquired the house from the Folkers. Landgraff was the propietor of one of Mill Valley's first saloons. A good Catholic, he opened his house to annual church fairs and benefits. The house was known at that time as "Landgraff Villa". |
