Description |
Portrait of Ernest Everett Wood, principal of Tamalpais High School from its opening in 1908 until his retirement in 1944, his wife Mabel, and their four daughters Ernestine, Mildred, Ruth, and Vivian. Wood and his family lived on campus for most of his tenure; he commemorated his four daughters’ births with the four towering redwoods that now dominate the school’s landscape. Wood deeded the trees so they cannot be cut down. |
