   Carol Connelly Budds' grandparents, Alfred Axel Lundquist and Caroline Lundquist, came to San Francisco from Sweden in the 1880s. Around 1904 they bought a large plot of land at the corner of Marion Avenue and Cascade Drive in Mill Valley. Carol's mother Karin Lundquist Connelly was the youngest of the Lunquists' four children.
