Typed excerpts from two letters written in 1896 by John Burt to his future bride, Cora Gardner, about his time in Mill Valley and his experience on the Mt. Tamalpais & Muir Woods Railway. John Burt was an early Mill Valley resident, who worked for the Tamalpais Land and Water Company, and later was the manager of the Marin Municipal Water District. He was also a surveyor and real estate developer.
