Description Looking down from Summit Avenue in 1890, ten years before the city was incorporated. In this year the first lots were sold at auction by Tamalpais Land and Water Co. Photo shows train trestle from Sausalito and tracks into town, marshes extending far into town, sailing ships in Bay, and East Blithedale Avenue, which was the old county road into Mill Valley.
