In this oral history, bicycling legend Joe Breeze recounts a life devoted to riding, racing, designing, and building bicycles, as well as to fostering and promoting bicycle culture more generally. Born in San Francisco in 1953, Joe grew up in Mill Valley and, at the time of this oral history, had lived in Marin County his whole life. In this oral history, Wende Cragg recounts her life in Marin County and expresses her intense passion for mountain biking. Born in Berkeley in 1948, Wende grew up amongst seven siblings in Berkeley and Oakland. In the late 1960s at Merritt College she met her ex-husband Larry Cragg, with whom she soon moved to Mill Valley. Wende recalls hanging out at Mill Valley’s Prune Music when it was a crossroads for Bay Area musicians.
